Here it is, the itinerary for our "Let Freedom Ring" Tour - 2003 to Wisconsin, Chicago and northern Illinois. This is current as of May 22, but almost anything is subject to change. | |

Thursday, June 5 8:45 a.m. Arrival at Terminal “C”, Houston Intercontinental Airport, Continental Airlines ticket counter. Be sure your luggage and carry-on bag has the FBBC tag on it…Senior boys, be sure your garment bag has your extra FBBC tag on it as well. 10:40 a.m. Departure for Chicago O’Hare Airport on Continental #1222 … a direct flight. 1:15 p.m. Arrival in Chicago – the windy city. Gather luggage, garment bags and props; meet our escort, Mr. Scott Bryant and board the bus … our traveling home for the next two weeks! We will eat lunch – somewhere … somehow on the way to Madison! 5:00 p.m. Check in to our hotel in the heart of downtown Madison, Wisconsin located one block from the state capitol building: Madison Concourse Hotel -608-257-6000. How about a swim before dinner in our indoor pool? 7:00 p.m. Dinner at Tony Roma’s World Famous Grill. After dinner, we may take a brief walking tour to view the capitol building at night. 10:00 p.m. Sweet dreams … as our great adventure begins!
Friday, June 6 8:00 a.m. Good Morning … get ready to get wet 8:30 a.m. Buffet breakfast in hotel. 8:30 a.m. Board bus and depart for Noah’s Ark Water Park in Wisconsin Dells. We will spend the entire day at this fabulous water slide park and have lunch there as well. “Ten stories up … five seconds down!” 4:30 p.m. Board bus for hotel … and drying out! 7:00 p.m. Dinner at Tutto Pasta. How about some ice cream? 10:00 p.m. Into bed for some S L E E P!
Saturday, June 7 8:00 a.m. It’s time to get up – again! 8:30 a.m. Buffet breakfast in hotel 10:00 a.m. Board bus for trip to Cave of the Mounds, a magnificent display of underground caverns and jewel-like stalactites and stalagmites created millions of years ago! We will explore (and sing) in these “cool” underground wonders of the world. How about a rock sandwich for lunch? 3:00 p.m. Meet with The Madison Boychoir. We will play games, rehearse and eat dinner together. We will also be joined by The Red River Boys Choir of Fargo, North Dakota. 7:00 p.m. Joint concert at Oakwood Village West. 9:30 p.m. Back to hotel for packing – we check out tomorrow. 10:00 p.m. Are you tired … it’s time for bed.
Sunday, June 8 7:00 a.m. Rise and shine to give God the glory. 7:30 a.m. Buffet breakfast in hotel. 8:30 a.m. Hotel check out – board bus. 9:00 a.m. Arrival at First Baptist Church.9:30 a.m. Sing for worship services. 11:00 a.m. Potluck lunch at the church. 12:30 p.m. Board bus and depart for Appleton.2:30 p.m. Arrival at our hotel: Woodfield Suites - 920-734-7777 3:30 p.m. Rehearsal at First English Lutheran Church. 4:00 p.m. Meet with The Appleton Boys Choir. We will again play games, rehearse and eat dinner together. 7:00 p.m. Joint concert at the church. 9:00 p.m. Return to hotel – time to pack up again! 10:00 p.m. Good night, boys.
Monday, June 9 8:00 a.m. Is it time to get up already? 8:30 a.m. Buffet breakfast in hotel. 9:30 a.m. Hotel checkout and board bus for Green Bay. 10:00 a.m. Arrival at Doty Elementary School. 10:30 a.m. Concert for students 12:00 p.m. Lunch at a choke and puke. 1:00 p.m. Let’s ride some go-carts! Kastle Carts has Indy style go-carts on a quarter mile track with 25 degree banked turns and a 40-foot tunnel with neon strobe lights! 2:30 p.m. Check in to our hotel: Regency Suites - 920-432-4555. How about a swim in our indoor pool? 4:30 p.m. Meet with The Green Bay Boys Choir. Once more we will play games, rehearse and eat dinner together. The Wild River Boychoir will also be joining us. 7:30 p.m. Joint concert at their building in Martin Hall. 9:00 p.m. Maybe a quick swim before bed … and packing. 10:00 p.m. Time to put another great day to rest.
Tuesday, June 10 8:30 a.m. Oh, we love to sleep late. 9:00 a.m. Buffet breakfast in hotel. 10:00 a.m. Depart for Boulder Junction. We will stop along the way to have lunch, as we head to some of the most beautiful country you will ever see! 3:30 p.m. Check into our hotel: Boulder Junction Lodge - 715-385-2825. 5:00 p.m. Board bus for trip to Rhinelander – First Congregational Church. 5:30 p.m. Rehearsal and dinner at the church. 7:00 p.m. Concert. 9:00 p.m. Back to our hotel. 10:00 p.m. Sleep well boys.
Wednesday, June 11 8:00 am. Good morning everyone! 8:30 a.m. Breakfast at a restaurant.9:30 a.m. Board bus and depart for Camp Manitowish. 10:00 a.m. Arrival at camp … this morning we will do a ropes course, climb rocks and explore before lunch in the camp mess hall. After lunch, we will ride in ten person canoes on their two and a half mile lake! 2:30 p.m. Back to the hotel for showers. 3:30 p.m. You will participate in a children’s choir workshop I am conducting for the Boulder Junction Community Church. 5:00 p.m. Dinner at the church with their choir kids. 7:00 p.m. Concert at the church. 9:00 p.m. Time to pack up … cards anyone? 10:00 p.m. Lights out – it’s dark outside!
Thursday, June 12 8:30 a.m. The sun is up – are you? 9:00 a.m. Breakfast at a restaurant. 10:00 a.m. Hotel check out … back to the windy city we go – Chicago! We will stop several times and have lunch on the road. 5:30 p.m. Arrival and check in at our final hotel: Hilton Garden Inn - 630-941-1177. 6:30 p.m. Let’s check out this pool! 7:00 p.m. Dinner at Ed Debevic’s … a 50’s style diner where the waiters are sassy! 10:00 p.m. I’m sleepy … aren’t you?
Friday, June 13 8:30 a.m. Oh, say can you see – it’s another beautiful day. 9:00 a.m. Buffet breakfast in hotel. 10:30 a.m. Board bus for Walter Payton College Prep High School. 12:00 p.m. Concert at the school with lunch afterwards … just like home, eh? 1:00 p.m. We will spend this afternoon at the fabulous Field Museum of Natural History. There are over six acres of animals, plants, dinosaurs, mummies, fossils, gems, interactive exhibits and life-like dioramas. 5:00 p.m. Board bus to Comiskey Field. 6:30 p.m. Arrive at Comiskey. 7:05 p.m. Perform “The National Anthem” for the second game of a triple-series, White Sox vs. San Diego Padres. Hot dogs and junk at the game for dinner … yum! 10:30 p.m. You know the routine – good night!
Saturday, June 14 8:00 a.m. Time to get up – again. 8:30 a.m. Buffet breakfast in hotel. 10:30 a.m. Arrival at the world famous Museum of Science and History … a hands-on experience! This is a really cool place that you will both love and learn. 3:00 p.m. We will head to the Navy Pier and ride their fifteen story high Ferris Wheel and their thirty-six hand painted animal Carousel. We will also explore and shop some. 6:00 p.m. Dinner will be at Gino’s East, deep-dish pizza. 7:30 p.m. After dinner we say good night to Chicago atop the 110-story Sears Tower … the tallest building in North America. 10:00 p.m. Back to bed we go.
Sunday, June 15 8:00 a.m. Wake up, wake up, wake up! 8:30 a.m. Buffet breakfast in hotel. 10:30 a.m. We will spend part of our morning at the excellent Chicago Lincoln Park Zoo with over 1,000 exotic and familiar creatures. 2:00 p.m. Back to the hotel for showers. 3:30 p.m. Board bus for trip to Woodstock. 6:00 p.m. Father’s Day concert at the famous 1890 Woodstock Opera House. 8:00 p.m. Dinner at The Jail House … where you eat literally behind bars! 10:30 p.m. Wow – we need sleep!
Monday, June 16 8:30 a.m. Yawn – it’s time for a fun day. 9:00 a.m. Buffet breakfast in hotel. 10:00 a.m. We will spend the entire day at the Six Flags Great America theme park! Lunch will be in the park – so enjoy yourself! 5:30 p.m. Board bus for our traditional Chinese food feast at The Diamond Buffet. 8:00 p.m. It’s time for skit night at the hotel! We need to pack up all our many wonderful treasures carefully for our trip back to Texas. Our final night together on tour … Good night and sleep well boys.
Tuesday, June 17 7:30 a.m. One final morning together. 8:00 a.m. Buffet breakfast in hotel. 9:00 a.m. Board bus for O’Hare Airport. 11:00 a.m. Departure for Texas on Continental # 447 … a direct flight. 1:35 p.m. Arrival at Houston Intercontinental Airport. Claim your luggage; hug your chaperone goodbye and your parents' hello. |
