California Tour 2006

At the San Francisco Zoo, we saw the
renowned "Red-Shirted-Singeropus."

The acoustics at the National Shrine of St. Francis of Assisi were a perfect showcase and beautiful backdrop for the boys' talent.

Oakland A's fans know a good thing when they hear it.  The boys' National Anthem brought the house down.

The wonderful folks at St. Thomas More were so taken with the boys, they treated us all to ice cream at the local Cold Stone Creamery.  That was really cool!

The Alcatraz tour was an interesting history lesson.  This picture is called "Red Man Walking."

The beauty, majesty and serenity of Muir Woods was an inspiring adventure for everyone.

Did you know it takes up to 10 days to make a Jelly Belly jell bean?  We all had to wear these hats for the tour. (Note from Mr. C:   Mr. A's picture is available for a nominal fee.)

We'd have let this big guy join the choir, but he's too full of himself.

The visit to Sutter's Fort was a great "hands-on" classroom on the tools and trades of the Old West.

And of course, the older boys enjoyed our time with the Sacramento Children's chorus.

Biking the Golden Gate Bridge was an interesting math lesson.  Ask one us how 1.7 miles = 8.1 miles.  (Whew!)

Singing in the beautiful, historic Spanish mission, the Basilica at Mt. Carmel, was an inspirational experience.

Apologies... the splendor of the Hearst Castle obviously overtook some of the boys as we snapped this one.

Whale watching is so much fun...

...especially when you see whales!  (See notes from the Boston tour.)

Nothing like sitting with friends on the set of "Friends" at the Warner Brothers Studio lot.

Mr. A took a moment to try on a new bed for his house.  Uh, Mrs. A, can you re-arrange the furniture to fit this?

A mention of "Sea Hunt" would go way over these boys heads, but the wet suits made snorkeling off Catalina much more comfortable.

The kind folks at First American Title were very accommodating at our concert there.

The All American Boys Chorus had a great afternoon planned for us with outdoor games, food...

and a special time of singing for and with each other.

Looks like Princess Fiona will be dumping Shrek for four new princes.

The traditional Chinese Dinner.  Must be the last night of tour!

And Skit Night is... well, it's like watching laws and sausage being made - not for the faint of heart.

The legacy continues.  The 2005 - 2006 Tour Choir season ends with a successful tour.  A great group of young men who make all associated with them very, very proud.
