Workshop Day, March 8, 2003

The Tour Choir held a workshop to learn the staging for their "Let Freedom Ring" tour on the same Saturday as the Training Choir met for a workshop.  Together, they rehearsed the big joint choir finale for the Spring Concert.

First, the big guys sang it for the
Training Choir boys.

Then, they intermixed and sang it together.  They sounded great!

It was wonderful to hear the mix of voices...

... and see the mix of sizes.

We may be in different levels...

... but it's the same great choir.  "We are singers, we are brothers..."

Afterwards, the Tour Choir broke for lunch and to hang with their upcoming tour chaperones.

Then, a little game of "Rhythm" to re-focus.

Somebody's out and somebody's still playing.

They brush up on the "Let Freedom Ring" staging.

Lots of gestures to remember.

Wave those flags, boys!  Wave 'em proud!

Goosebumps.  If you think this is cool, you should have seen them in the Spring Concert, May 2003!

The Tour Choir will be featured on the December page of  the
City of Sugar Land, Texas calendar in 2004.  Renowned photographers
Chris and Suzanne Salvo were commissioned by the city to do the photography.

There's always a different angle.
Chris hits the deck.

Between shots, the boys tried to adjust
to wearing winter scarves in the May heat.

"Smile.   And look like you're singing.  And hold still.
And look natural.  And look here.  And..."

December's "pin-up" boys waiting patiently,
being the pro's that they are.

Sunday AM, August 17, 2003.  The season kicks off with a beautiful service at Grace Presbyterian Church.

We ended the service with a beautiful rendition of The Prayer.  Click image for a RealAudio file.

On April 18, 2004, we were privileged to sing our country's  National Anthem at the opening of a Houston Astros baseball game.  It is always a stirring experience to sing that almost sacred anthem, but even more so now and to this very appreciative and enthusiastic home-team crowd.

Backstage warm-up.

On the big screen.

Boy, it seems bigger when you're down here!

Just before the fireworks on "rockets red glare."

Scenes from this year's annual season kick-off pool party,
otherwise known as "Let's Drown Mr. A in the Pool."

Hey, wait a minute! I'M supposed to be
the one on the attack here!

Oh, I'm glad I'm not an Oscar Meyer weiner...

Here, in a Tour Choir rite of passage, new boys are taught the gestures to the monkey song.

Please ma'am, I want some more.

No Christmas is complete without the Fort Bend Boys Choir.  Here, we kick off the season at the official lighting of the City of Sugar Land's (our hometown) Christmas Tree Lighting.
