The Tour Choir has just returned from their two week concert tour of Illinois. While there, they learned a great deal about our 16th president, Abraham Lincoln. Mr. Lincoln was someone who committed his thoughts and actions into what hadn’t happened yet and as a visionary for all mankind spoke the following words about the importance of the legacy we leave behind:
“A boy is someone who is going to carry on what we have started . . . he is going to sit where we are sitting, and when we are gone, attend to those things which we think are important. We may adopt all of the policies we please, but how they are carried out – depends on him. He will assume control of our cities and states, our businesses and churches . . . the fate of humanity is in his hands and will forever become our legacy.”
I am reminded that the legacy of the Fort Bend Boys Choir involves giving our choristers permission to always strive to be their best, believe in themselves and their God-given talents and build self-esteem by sharing those talents with thousands of other people throughout the world!
Keep your thoughts positive – because your thoughts become your words . . . keep your words positive – because your words become your actions . . . keep your actions positive – because your actions become your habits . . . keep your habits positive – because your habits become your character . . . and keep your character positive – because your character becomes your LEGACY!
